Chorley Flower Show: 31 July – 2 August
The Chorley Flower Show is back at Astley Park from Friday 31 July to Sunday 2 August, 10am to 5pm each day. It's one of the best award-winning flower shows in the North West and it's right here on our doorstep, set around Astley Hall with the park in full summer bloom.
If you've never been, go. And if you're thinking about moving to this part of Chorley, spend the day there — you'll get a proper feel for why people who buy near Astley Park don't tend to leave.
Summer Fun Thursdays at Market Walk
Every Thursday from 23 July through to 27 August, Market Walk is running free family activities from 10am to 4pm. A really nice touch for the town centre in the school holidays, and it keeps footfall strong — something that matters for the shops, the cafes, and the general feel of the place.

National headlines this month talk about mortgage approvals down 15% year-on-year. Read that in isolation and you'd think the market had stopped. It hasn't — not here.
What's actually happening in Chorley: fewer speculative browsers, more serious buyers. The people looking now are the ones ready to move — schools sorted for September, mortgages agreed in principle, chains already forming. It's a healthier market than a "busier" one full of tyre-kickers.
Well-presented family homes near good schools are still going quickly, especially in Astley Village, Euxton, Whittle-le-Woods and Buckshaw. Bungalows anywhere in central Chorley remain in very short supply.
